4 Christmas styling tips from the Rug Gurus
With the festive season just around the corner, it’s time to think about how you’re going to style your interiors this Christmas. From kitsch to classy, showy to subtle, we all do Christmas a little differently, but which styles are making the biggest impact this season? As the Rug Gurus, we’re always brimming with interior ideas, but we’ve managed to whittle them down to our top 4 trends we’re loving this season.
Go Gold This Christmas
Create a warm, inviting ambiance in your home this Christmas with a gold colour palette. When the days get colder and the nights get darker, there’s nothing like the golden glow of warm fairy lights to really get you in the Christmas spirit. Add some glitter for an extra touch of glitz and glamour, perfect for party season, or pair with rich reds and emerald greens for a traditional Christmas interior.
We think Persia Gold/Cloud would fit beautifully into this colour palette. By incorporating gold accents within the fibres, this rug remains the star of the show without overpowering the room.
Incorporate Plush Materials
If you’ve read our Autumn/Winter trends blog, you’ll already know how important layered textures are for the chilly seasons. Not only do mixed, plush materials add visual depth to your interior, they also add some much needed warmth!
We’re loving the Sheepskin trend at the moment due to the sheer versatility of these gorgeous pieces. Our 100% genuine Sheepskin rugs can be styled on the floor, draped over a sofa or placed on uncomfortable seating to create a cosy, cushioned arrangement. Take a look at our previous blog to see all of the fabulous ways you can style your Sheepskin rug this Winter.
Play With Pink Details
We know what you’re thinking, pink at Christmas could be considered tacky, but blush pink Christmas decor is all the rage this year. The soft, feminine tones of this hue add a sweet, magical touch to interiors. If you’re not ready to go all out, rose gold is a great starting point to still experience the elegance of pink. Pair with pearlescent trinkets and glass ornaments for a luxurious yet tasteful interior.
We think Hush Coral Pink would be a fabulous addition to pink interiors, as the silky viscose fibres catch the light beautifully.
Keep It Natural
This year, we’re incorporating natural elements into our Christmas decor. Not only is it a more sustainable way of decorating your home, but you also get all of the wonderful smells that come from these natural decorations. Replace plastic tinsel with a natural garland, featuring mistletoe, holly, fir and pine sprigs, and incorporate woody features throughout your home with chunky logs, pinecones and chestnuts.
Pair with neutral furnishings and keep it natural and eco-friendly; we’d suggest Reef Mink for an added environmentally friendly element. Not only is it made from recycled plastic bottles, but it is also easy care, making it perfect for any Christmas time spills or mess!
